There already exists an International Association of Obituarists (IAO) which hosts an Obituary Writers Conference. Now a US-based Society of Professional Obituary Writers (SPOW)---mainly for newspaper obituarists---has been created. More here.
I use this site as an on-line journal and archive for my research project about representations of individuality in biomedicine. A project which includes--but is by no means exhausted by--studies of the genres of medical and scientific biography.
I'm working as professor in history of medicine and director of Medical Museion, University of Copenhagen (see my official site). I'm already contributing to another blog (Biomedicine on Display) which records a research project on the historiography and museology of contemporary biomedicine at Medical Museion. This blog is about my subproject on the representation of individuality in contemporary biomedicine, including the uses of the genre of biography.

So, you could get them to write an obituary for this blog ... :)

The first comment, ever, on this blog. Wow!
Post some more posts here about your research into individuality in biomedicine, and you'll probably get more comments!
